Bubonga-Marantao National High School Graduates Batch 2006-2007

Some dignitaries, Datu’s and Bae’s arrived at unified ideas after series of meetings to name the school “BUBONGA MARANTAO”. It’s quite wonderful to hear the name, instead of naming it after an ancestral name or its Municipality but instead it was named after its Geographical location. In the first place, the Municipality of Piagapo is geographically divided into three NAMELY: Sundigana Piagapo compose of ( 8 ) eight Barangays, namely, Odalo, Palacat, Kalanganan, Talao, Bansayan, Bagoingud, Lininding, and Taporug; the second one is Pat a panoroganan which originally has ( 4 ) four barangays Basak, Pantar, Radapan, Tambo, but now turns in 12 Barangays; the third one is Bubonga Marantao, consisting of six barangays by origin namely: Mamaan, Bobo, Mintring, Bualan, Tawaan, Ilian, where the school arise. The Six ( 6 ) barangays that comprises Bubonga Marantao is at present becomes 18 Barangays that surrounded the said school. The school is beautifully surrounded by hills, like contour on the south leading to Mintring and on the north hills side that bounded Mindanao State University and the Municipality of Piagapo over looking the beautiful Lake Lanao.  

( A) NEED FOR ITS ADOPTATION

             The surrounding barangays in this school have had a loud applause on its operation. For more than a century parents have really had a hard time sending their children to Secondary school. Elementary education has never been a problem for parents because this place has really healthy elementary school like; Bobo Elementary school which is just kilometer away, Bago a ingud Elementary school of Saguiaran which is is 2 kilometers away, and Ilian Central Elementary School being regarded as the Poblacion of this Municipality. Thus, a campaign for an increase in population is never a hindrance.

             Furthermore, the absence of Public Secondary School long time ago promote the ideas of the some people to name this Municipality as one of the Hot spot Municipality in the Province of Lanao del Sur. Mostly, if not all students upon elementary graduation decline to continue their studies because of geographical reason. There are some boys turn to find themselves harrowing with their parents or follow other side of life or called “Hard headed teens”. Similarly, many girls did the other way, some got an early marriage. Peace and order condition becomes a problem as population increases. In this case, education is made possible only for wealthy family but not for a low-income family.

             Thus, upon creation of this school, the desire for education rises. After elementary grades, the students can easily proceed to Secondary Education, where success awaits for them because, Mindanao State University – Main Campus in Marawi City is just a walking distant away from this school. They can acquire any degrees they wish with less expense; knowing and believing that Mindanao State University in Marawi City is a home of poor but deserving and able students. The people have a hands to adopt this school especially that the Electricity bill is shoulder buy our beloved Barangay Chairman Basher Lomondot. So that any improvement that requires Electricity will always be made possible.

 ( B ) CREATION OF THIS SCHOOL

            The school it its creation is with in the beast interest of Macatanong family; no less than Marawi City Division Superintendent Mona “NAWARA” Ampuan Macatanong and Ret. Supervisor Lumna Macatanong, Alhadj and through the effort of the couple of the school runs smoothly. The initial preparation of pertinent papers was made possible by Sultan Saidamen H. Daud with the implementation of the Writer as proponent. The school enter into a dilemma when financial support turn impossible, the proponent exert all her efforts. However, it was ALLAH’s Blessing that upon full operation of the school the writer financial status decline, and need the help and support of the people of Bubonga Marantao. The completion of its papers and other requirements start May 2003 – 2004 but formally open its classed during the academic year of 2004-2005, with this very short span of time, the school has Seven Hundred Thirty One ( 731 ) population. It is expected to be on its peak when Building and other Instructional materials such as textbooks and laboratory equipments including Furniture and fixture will be provided to us by the proper authority. Thus, the school hopes for any support from both the governments and other support Agencies.

( C ) FACULTY and STAFF CURRENT STATUS

             In order to ensure smooth operation of the school, volunteers recruited were all residents of this place. Every class hours and week days are spend with their students with the hope to success. Rainy days irritate both the students and faculties, neither the heat of the son nor the coldness of rainy season are undefined due to the interest of the teaching force. To this date, all members of the teaching force voluntarily work with out pay. While waiting for an itemized position that the government will provide to us in a soonest possible time.      

         Furthermore, the current status may change according to the respond of the National Government in providing our needs, that includes building and other infrastructure facilities, like furniture and fixture, textbooks and other printed related materials were the most awaited moments of these Faculties and the Students as a whole. As time passes by, the needs for these mention needs rushes to be heard by proper authority.
